Dr Zhao Jin, of Xiamen University's Department of Anthropology, recently conducted his fieldwork in the Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture . He stayed in a very remote village in the riverside of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River for two months. He says that living in that area for two months was an unforgettable experience for him: "The Tibetan people's traditional customs and practices have received wide respect in China" and the Buddha finds expression in temples across China today,
